NIX Solutions: AI Agents Coming to Photoshop and Premiere

Adobe is preparing to integrate AI agents into its flagship products—Photoshop and Premiere Pro. These agents will be capable not only of suggesting edits for images and videos but also of automatically applying them. The news was shared by Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s CTO for digital media, in a recent blog post.

In Photoshop, users will soon see a new AI-powered “creative agent” within a floating Actions panel. This agent can analyze an image and recommend edits such as removing distracting background objects or applying artistic background blurs. Once the user confirms the option, the AI will handle the editing automatically, according to The Verge.

While experienced Photoshop users usually prefer manual control—working with layers and making detailed adjustments—Adobe has steadily been adding AI functionality. Tools like Generative Fill, which adds or fills in image pixels, and Distraction Removal, which deletes unwanted elements, are already in place.

Smarter Editing with Natural Language Commands

Looking ahead, Adobe plans to let users communicate with the AI agent using natural language. This feature aims to simplify complex editing operations, making them more accessible to a broader user base. However, users will still have the flexibility to tweak the AI’s results or continue working manually with layers if they prefer.

Premiere Pro is also getting smarter. Adobe is further developing its Media Intelligence technology, which can currently analyze video content to locate specific scenes. Soon, users will be able to request basic edits directly from the AI agent. We’ll keep you updated as these capabilities evolve.

Greenfield emphasized that AI will not replace human creativity but will instead enhance it by offering intelligent suggestions and speeding up the editing process. “It can teach users how to perform complex tasks in just a few clicks, supporting their professional growth,” he noted.

Premiere Pro’s Future AI Capabilities

The AI agent in Premiere Pro is expected to offer features like frame selection, color correction, sound adjustment, and the use of Generative Extend—a tool that adds a few seconds to clips for seamless transitions, notes NIX Solutions. These enhancements are designed to support editors at every skill level.

The technology behind the first AI agent for Photoshop will be officially presented at Adobe Max in London on April 24. Adobe continues to expand its AI features, and yet we’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.
