NIXsolutions: Google Beam Launches for Enterprises

On May 20, 2025, during the Google I/O conference, the company announced the transition of its experimental Project Starline into the commercial phase under the new name Google Beam. This new platform leverages artificial intelligence and 3D visualization technologies to offer realistic video calls—without requiring headsets or glasses.

The first commercial devices, created in collaboration with HP, are set to debut at the InfoComm exhibition from June 7 to 13, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. These devices are expected to become available to enterprise customers by the end of the year. Google Beam aims to deliver an immersive communication experience by combining six cameras, a light field, and cloud computing to generate a real-time three-dimensional image of the conversation partner.

By tracking head movements and facial expressions, the system provides a presence level comparable to in-person meetings. Integration with existing platforms like Google Meet and Zoom ensures easier adoption within current corporate infrastructures. We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.

Expanding Functionality and Market Reach

To enhance its capabilities, Google Beam now includes simultaneous speech translation. This function, already live in Google Meet, supports communication across languages while preserving intonation and facial cues—leading to more natural interactions in global environments.

Google is also working with industry partners such as Zoom, Diversified, and AVI-SPL to promote the adoption of Beam, adds NIXsolutions. Among the first enterprises exploring the technology are Deloitte, Salesforce, Citadel, NEC, Hackensack Meridian Health, Recruit, and Duolingo. HP will present the initial Beam hardware at InfoComm, marking a significant step in bringing immersive communication tools to the workplace.

Originally introduced in 2021 as a research initiative, Project Starline has matured into a commercial solution designed for the enterprise sector. With Beam, Google takes a notable step forward in remote collaboration, offering deeper engagement and potentially reducing the fatigue associated with traditional video calls.

Yet we’ll keep you updated as Google continues to evolve the platform and expand its capabilities for enterprise communication.
